Here are our best pics from our 4 day dive holiday on the GBR. I’m a little disappointed in the quality of the photos, especially when I compare them to our previous trips to this location. Poor light and low visibility limited our options for taking good photos. So, to cheer ourselves up, we have booked another trip to the reef over the Christmas and New Year season.
Clown Anemonefish; These fish are always moving. It’s quite a challenge to get a good close-up photo that’s in focus. This is the best shot of the 50 or so that I took, there’s room for improvement.
Bluespotted Stingray; feeding in the sand under the boat.
Whitetip reef shark; nice and close
Whitetip reef shark; This shark was resting in a small cave, they don’t usually let you get this close.
Crab on whip coral; Also only found on seawhip coral.
Hawksbill Turtle; this turtle was being cleaned, it’s much easier to get a photo while they’re being cleaned.
Feather Star; This Feather Star had two prawns and a small fish in residence.
Blackfin Barracuda; They are about 80cm long.
Unknown prawn; I just love his blue eyes
Barramundi Cod; Easily recognisable by the shape of its head.
Sea-Whip Goby; found only on seawhip coral
Common Lionfish; It’s actually a spectacular looking fish that has 13 venemous dorsal fin spines.
Pink Skunk Clownfish or Pink Anemonefish
