Diving around Pelorus Island

Finally, we’ve got back into the water. We enjoyed this expedition, but it’s not for everyone. If you want to relax, enjoy a comfy bed, shower or toilet, then don’t do this trip, it is not for the faint hearted. Pelorus Island is the northernmost island of the Great Palm Island group and is about a 20 minute boat ride from Lucinda.

What our camp looked like……

Our excursion consisted of 2 days diving (5 day dives and 1 night dive), with a sleep over on Pelorus Island.

The diving conditions we’re average with about 10m visibility and max. water temp. of 20 degrees (cold for North Queensland). All dives were at a depth of 10 to 14 metres, and suitable for students and inexperienced open water divers. We enjoyed all our dives and there was plenty of photo opportunities.

And for the little stuff, nudibranchs and flatworms.
